CCNCTO is currently working on two
projects focused on Chinese Canadian Seniors.
Immigrant
Seniors Income Security Project
This project seeks to improve the state of income security
for all immigrant seniors. CCNCTO is working in partnership
with the Immigrant Seniors Advocacy Network (ISAN) on this
campaign. This network is comprised of the Alternative Planning
Group, the Old Age Benefits Forum and other seniors groups.
Chinese
Canadian Seniors Speak Out
The objectives of this project are to provide opportunities
for Chinese Canadian seniors to share their perspectives
on their quality of life in Canada; raise awareness of social
issues facing Chinese Canadian seniors including elder abuse
and poverty; and recognize and promote the contributions
of Chinese Canadian seniors by publishing a collection of
their stories in a booklet.
