Candice Chen

Candice Chen is a passionate advocate for social justice and equity, with over seven years of experience supporting youth, newcomers, and marginalized communities. She has designed and implemented culturally responsive programs addressing mental health, anti-racism, and workers’ rights, while creating spaces for intergenerational dialogue and community empowerment.

Her journey began as a young immigrant navigating life in Canada, an experience that fuels her commitment to building inclusive and supportive communities. Through her work, Candice has led workshops on poverty, discrimination, and social change, and has mentored individuals facing systemic barriers.

She currently provides multilingual crisis support in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese to individuals experiencing emotional distress. Her approach is grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and an unwavering belief in the strength of community. As a board member of the Chinese Canadian National Council Toronto Chapter (CCNCTO), she is committed to advancing equity and justice for Chinese Canadians and beyond.

Candice Chen 是一位致力于社会正义和平等的倡导者,拥有七年以上支持青少年、新移民和弱势群体的经验。她曾设计并推动多个具有文化敏感度的社区项目,关注心理健康、反歧视和劳工权益,并积极促进代际对话与社区赋权。

作为一名年轻时移民到加拿大的亲历者,她深刻理解边缘群体所面临的挑战,这段经历也驱使她致力于建设更加包容和支持的社区。她曾带领探讨贫困、歧视与社会变革的工作坊,并长期指导那些面临制度性障碍的个体。

目前,她以英语、普通话和粤语为情绪困扰人士提供心理危机支援服务。她强调同理心与文化尊重,坚信社区的力量能够带来真正的改变。作为平权会的理事会成员,她致力于推动华人社区乃至整个社会的公平与正义。
