Helen Chen

Helen Chen (she/her) is a nonprofit professional with a background in youth engagement, operations, and community building - both in Toronto and nation-wide. She approaches her work through an intersectional, community-focused lens, and is particularly passionate about creating opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in building better communities, as leaders and stewards. 

 

In the past, she has worked for and volunteered with the City of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, Scarborough Youth United, Hackergal, as well as CCNCTO. She also grew up in Scarborough, and is proud to call it her first home! As a member of the Board of Directors, Helen hopes to use her skills and knowledge towards building greater capacity for worker, youth, and senior organizing to achieve economic and racial justice for Chinese communities.

 

Helen是一位非营利组织工作者，拥有青年参与、运营管理和社区建设方面的经验，活跃于多伦多及全国范围。她以交叉性和以社区为中心的视角开展工作，尤其热衷于为各个年龄层的人们创造参与社区建设的机会，鼓励他们成为社区的领导者和守护者。

过去，她曾在多伦多市政府、多伦多都会大学、士嘉堡青年联合会（Scarborough Youth United）、Hackergal 以及平权会工作或担任志愿者。她也在士嘉堡长大，并为能够把士嘉堡称为家乡而感到自豪！作为理事会成员，Helen 希望运用自己的技能和知识，增强工人、青年和长者的组织能力，推动华裔社区实现经济与种族正义。
